All products and packaging are produced within the UK using locally sourced businesses and FSC® certified stock wherever possible (this guarantees that a product has been sourced in an environmentally, socially and economically responsible manner). The Giclée Prints are produced and printed locally in Wales where I am based. The illustrated tissue paper is produced by an Eco-Packaging Alliance company that plants a tree in an area that needs reforestation for each order.

Being environmentally friendly is a really important value of Elestration as such I have selected products with care for the environment in mind. This means that the materials your item is packaged in wherever possible are recyclable, biodegradable, compostable, and plastic-free for your peace of mind so you can help care for the environment too!

Envelopes and packaging

I use FSC® certified envelopes that are 100% recyclable

100% recyclable mount board behind your print, which is also archival to keep your print safe

​

Illustrated tissue paper - FSC®-certified, is made with acid-free paper and soy-based inks

The sticker on your tissue paper with our logo on is 100% recyclable and biodegradable

​

All Prints are protected inside clear fully compostable and biodegradable bag (Eco-Cello) which are made in the UK from film that has been accredited to ‘OK biobased’ and  DIN EN 13432. They are made from vegetable starches (potato, sugar beet etc.) and are fully Biodegradable - they break down to CO2 and water which can then be reused in the eco system to make new plants. This will happen in either in home or commercial composting or landfill - The sticker confirming this (bottom right) of the bag is made from Compostable EN 13432 Certified Film.

The Elestration Label with information about your print (top left) are made from uncoated, wood free printing paper composed of 95% sugar cane fibres and 5% hemp and linen. These biodegradable labels are specifically designed for complete packaging that should be biodegradable.

The Certificate of Authenticity and Thank you cards are made from 300gsm FSC® certified, environment friendly ECF pulp and is biodegradable and recyclable.

Eco-Ele-Studio

​

Elestration® is a paperless studio - which means I do not keep any paper (other than my paintings and art supplies which are made with acid free 300gsm watercolour paper) I do my accounting and correspondence online, and any packaging I receive from suppliers is recycled on a weekly basis locally, my suppliers send their products in recyclable materials.

Continue to use packaging and find local responsible suppliers for eco-friendly products, collating information about the end of life of the products used and how they are environmentally friendly which can be accessible to anyone who needs access, as I have a data sheet with detailed information on what an item is made from and its components, and my own compiled research/information for when this can’t be provided, for each product I sell including the packaging. We have made a sustainability policy for people to read about our actions and what products we use. I try to use only UK and Local Welsh suppliers where practical and reasonable to support local businesses.
